Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Recently, I was asked about chipping in on meals when working overtime. For me it's an individual choice whether or not to "Donate". I usually contribute, that's my choice. HOWEVER!! (here it goes) - The individual that ask me about it had recently worked an overtime and, for whatever reason the crew did not cook and have a meal that day. However they insisted he should contribute to their station meal fund regardless. How do the rest of you out there feel about this?
For me as I've stated above this is a personal choice, some do, some don't. But if anyone thinks I have to, as in the above case where they didn?t even eat, look forward to never seeing a dime from me again. Also I would make it a point to bring my own meal next time and not be a part of your crew meal.

First off, no way, if they didn't have a group meal that shift or buy a group meal take-out then forget it.
It all comes down to tradition. You get an OT- you kick in some cash that's the standard. Just like the probie cooking a meal to say thanks for the help, that's the tradition.
For those who choose not to kick in when they get an overtime, shame on you. An OT shift is about $1000.00 and you can't put in extra for the meal, you should hang your head in shame. You say personal choice, I say you’re cheap! For those who don't pay because it's personal choice, we all think you're no class, penny pinching, shameful individuals.
The good news for these individuals is there will be plenty of room at their retirement party!!!
