IAFF Local 31
May update

Brothers and Sisters,

The election season is kicking off and your Local 31 principal officers and executive board have been busy interviewing many candidates and attending many kickoff gatherings.  We have several important races that will dictate how business will be run in Olympia after this coming November.  The Senate seat and a Representative seat are up for grabs in the 28th.  Your executive board has endorsed Tami Green for the Senate seat and we are still waiting to interview all interested parties for the Representative seat.  The 26th Senate seat is up once again.  This seat is held by Jan Angel who is the district chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council--the group that fights againsts workers rights and benefits.  We will be interviewing Ms. Angel's challenger in June.  Our friend, Nathan Schlicher, will be running for a representative seat in the 26th as well.  Please take a look at our endorsement page as I update it every month after executive board.  If you have any questions about any race, please get in touch with myself or any other principal officer or board member.  See you out there!

Alex
