The Fight ahead |
Brothers and Sisters,
We have a tough battle ahead of us. This week, there is Right to Work legislation being heard in committee down in Olympia. This type of legislation is produced to tear apart Labor and Unions--it hurts the working class, period.

October message |
Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you to all that helped out at this years retirement party and for Dean Edwards putting together another great dinner for all that attended! You missed a great party if you were unable to come.
Update |
Your Local 31 Executive Board did get a few endorsements in before session started this year. The endorsement process will resume as soon as session comes to an end--which at this point will go into overtime. Please refer to our endorsement page for the most up to date endorsements.
Success! |
Local 31 is proud to announce that 9 of our 11 endorsements were successful this election! Locally, we were able to retain Ander Ibsen and Ryan Mello on the Tacoma City Council--these two gentleman have been great supporters of us throughout their terms on the council.
Election |
Brothers and Sisters,
Tomorrow is the general election. Please consider our endorsed candidates as your Executive board has done it's homework and interviewed all the candidates that we have endorsed. We are critical that these are the best "labor" candidates that are on the ballot in each of their prospective races.
Quick update |
Brothers and Sisters,
Your Local 31 Executive Board has endorsed two candidates early on in this years election cycle. They are Anders Ibsen, Position 1 of our Tacoma City council, and Ryan Mello, Position 8 Tacoma City council. They are the incumbents in both races and have been supportive of our issues in these trying times.
Action |
There are many opportunities to help your Union coming up this year. The Firefighters Ball is coming up this weekend--there are opportunities to help set up on Friday and Saturday as well as the tear down on Sunday. Please let any Local 31 Executive board member know if you can help.
May update |
Brothers and Sisters,
The election season is kicking off and your Local 31 principal officers and executive board have been busy interviewing many candidates and attending many kickoff gatherings. We have several important races that will dictate how business will be run in Olympia after this coming November.
